Seedling Raising
In hydroponic culture the seedling production technique is as interesting as like as the system. For seedling production sponge block
is used .Generally sponge is cut in to size of 30 cm X 30cm. This sponge again
cut in to several block of 2.5cm X 2.5cm of square size and I every block 1cm
cut is given in the center and the seed is placed. Before seed sowing seeds are
soaked in to 10% calcium or sodium hypochlorate. After seed sowing the sponge
is kept in a tray and water is supplied for 5-8cm in a way that the sponge can
float in the water. After 2-3 day of germination at primary stage 5-10 mm food
nutrient solution and after 10-12 day till transplantation every day 10-20mm
solution is supplied in the ray.
In hydroponic system for different crops the transplanting age and pH of the solution is different. Following table is sowing the transplanting age and pH of solution of some hydroponic crops

Seedling transplanting
For transplanting the nutrient solution was taken in the
plot size tray and a cork-sheet is placed on the solution. Lay out of the planting
patter is made and small holes r made there and the seedling blocks are placed
in every holes. Some extra holes are also made in the cork-sheet for air
movement and oxygen supply for the roots of the hydroponic plants.
