MANAGEMENT

Management and Precautions

The success of hydroponic culture depend on the proper management For getting success the following management and precautions should be maintained:
-          The proportion of EC and pH : the Ph should be maintained between 5.8-6.5 and EC between 1.5 -2.5 ds/m. If the concentration become more or less the root is damaged. It should be remind that sudden change of pH or EC should not be done.

-          Nutrient requirement of plant is shown in the leaf color. If nutrient deficiency is observed, then required nutrient should be added in the nutrient solution. That is why we should know all about deficiency symptoms.
-          Preservation of ideal temperature of the solution should be ensured. Generally the temperature of 25-30oC is most appropriate. If the temperature rises the root respiration is also increased and oxygen requirement also increases and the amount of oxygen in solution decreases.

-          In aqua nutrient solution excess oxygen should be supplied. Because in deficiency of oxygen the roots of plants are extremely damaged.
-          In the culture area enough sun light should be ensured and disease free seedling should be used. If any diseased plant is observed then it should be removed .

-          In cultivated plants different insect attack may be observed (aphid, leaf minor, Trips, spider etc ). By regular inspection the insects should be eliminated.
